Moving Office: Guide
The decision has been made to move your office, maybe it’s because you’d like to expand your premises or you’d simply like a change.
Get started by selecting your new premises; this should be taken into careful consideration as your new office will need to be sufficient and meet your requirements.
You can ask yourself some questions about the premises in order to depict if it is the right choice for you:
– How will the area affect your business?
– Is the office big enough to fit yourself and your employees in?
– Is there enough room for future expansion if needed?
– Is the building sand premises safe and secure? Will this affect your insurance?
Additional factors that should be checked are the transport links and parking as your employees will need to be able to get to and from the building with ease; the office must also offer convenient access for visitors and clients.
Ensure the premises has all of the facilities you will need: a sufficient amount of plug sockets, a kitchen if required, drinking water taps, both male and female toilets, an air conditioning unit and heating.
Once you have prioritised what you will need, you can then negotiate the terms of your lease effectively to be parallel with those priorities. It’s essential to get legal advice for this step to make sure you are doing properly.
Plan your project
After you have decided on your premises. the next thing to do is planning. This plan can never be too detailed; a plan that covers every different possible outcome means there is no room for surprises and you can ensure a smooth office move.
