Consider the weather conditions

End-of-year temperatures in the UK haven’t been as bad in the past years as they could be, however, it is always advisable to have some salt/grit ready for the house you are moving to and your old/current residence to avoid any slipping when moving your belongings in and out of the properties.

Pay your utility bills

If you are able to switch your utilities from your old home to your new one, ensure that you know the availability of this. You’ll want to keep yourself toasty warm in the run-up to Christmas and sometimes there can be administrative delays on the provider’s side.

Changing address

It’s a given that at this time of year, you are likely to receive more post. To avoid missing out on cards from family and friends, make sure they have your new address, especially if you’ll be a long distance away. Don’t forget to redirect your bills and other important documentation also to save time in the long run.
