Common things forgotten when moving
Moving can be a stressful time, putting pressure on movers which has lead to a lot of cases of items being forgotten.
Preventing yourself from forgetting these items can be made easier if you know which items are more frequently forgotten:
Records
Something so simple and something that has been mentioned before, no doubt, are the records of doctors, dentists, vets, any school records etc.
Find time to seek out specialists in the area of where you will be moving to – these are the things that you will need to go back for if they are forgotten, costing you time and money.
Cleaners
Make sure that you visit the cleaners to pick up any clothes that may have been left there.
Other things like library books and film rentals will need to be thought of also.
Gather your contacts
Another thing that is frequently forgotten is the collection of contacts; phone numbers and emails.
Pets and Plants
For those who own said things – it becomes apparent to movers that removal companies may not be able to take them on the day of the move, leading to these items being forgotten or, sadly, left behind.
Arrangements
Moving into a new area can lead to one of the most common things that is forgotten – making the arrangements for your new life.

This should contain all of the essentials that will be needed while moving, things that you’ll need the first access to; toothbrushes, towels, maybe clothing items, snacks and drinks etc.
Final cleaning
It’s a lengthy process, although the final sweep of your house will be worthwhile, you may find that document that had been tucked behind a bedside table – there’s no harm in that triple check.
Keys
Hand in any spare keys to garages or the door, the new owners of your home may not feel comfortable while your possession of gaining entrance into the house.
