A few weeks before moving day, a lot of things will need to be decided. For example, how much of the work will be taken on by yourself? Are you going to delegate the work to a removal team who specialises in the big moving day, making your life as stress free as possible?
From this point, you can begin organising the help that you’ll need from others, requesting quotes for the various services that you wish to have for the moving day that’s growing ever closer.

If you decide that ultimately it’s best to use a removal firm, always be sure to get a quote first. Request that the quote is put in writing, so you know the exact amount and what it covers. This is to ensure no disagreement ensues later on the price.

Moving day preparation
Once a removal firm has been chosen, always remember to provide a date at which you’re moving as soon as possible. This will allow for all the paperwork to be completed on time, therefore ensuring you actually move on time and don’t suffer from delays. The sooner the paperwork is completed, the sooner the moving date will come.
Given there is a delay and the moving day gets pushed back, be sure to let your removal firm know as soon as possible. Try and avoid Friday and Bank Holiday where possible, as these as usually the busiest days for removal firms.
Planning on packing?

If you decide to pack yourself, then do it well in advance. It will take much longer than expected!
